Blessing others; Blessing me

I am blessed in so many ways and there are so many opportunities for helping others. The economy this year has caused many to change the way they celebrate. I found that I enjoy helping others by giving but not in the traditional way. Sometimes the giving is of time or kind words. Sometimes the giving is a gift that they would never be able to do of their own resources. Sometimes it is just a gift for no reason. The people I am led to bless are not always family and it may seem to others that the person or family is not always deserving. I just know that when I feel the need to do it I must follow through. As one person I know says it is a "compulsion". No matter the reason, I am better for it and I receive a blessing in return. God has always provided for my needs over and above anything I could ask or think. And He blesses me over and over again and that is my driving force.
So this Christmas Season, when you are celebrating in your own way, think of those who may benefit from a blessing from you. It might seem a small thing to you, but to the person laid on your heart to bless it will be monumental. Try it. You won't be disappointed.
Then as the New Year dawns, don't let the spirit of giving be a thing of last year. I find that it is an awesome way to live. Blessing others; Blessing me.

Have a Blessing Merry Christmas
and to all a Blessed New Year

Angels rejoicing

Wow!
So often we pray for our loved ones and wonder if the prayers will be answered in our lifetime. Well, tonight, in fact just 27 minutes ago we got one of those calls that is such a privilege. Our daughter-in-law called to tell us that she just got saved. She has accepted Jesus as her personal saviour.
We are rejoicing with the angels in heaven too. She has many questions, and at this very moment my husband is answering some of them. I can hear the excitement in the tone of his voice.
We pray for all our family, and this particular part of the family is one that we thought would be a difficult arduous process.
Oh how God blesses! We are so glad He is in control.
This victory also makes us more aware to pray more diligently for others.
I pray for all those who read this and if you haven't taken that step or need to rededicate your life to Jesus, please don't wait do it now.
Love and Blessings to all.

2009-The Year for Change

Well here we are in 2009 and I for one plan to spend a lot more time at the foot. The "Foot of the Cross" that is. As a country we are in a scary and exciting time. The economy, although frightening at times, can also be exciting. I believe and trust that the LORD has plans we cannot even fathom in our human mortal minds. So many times in my life when I thought things were so bad that I didn't even know where the money would come from for our food or rent, somehow it came and we didn't starve or freeze. I pray daily for those who are in this kind of a situation now, because for them it is a scary and frightening time. What is exciting about it is when the LORD works it out and we look back and say WOW, I couldn't have imagined that!
We are seeing an increase of the Holy Spirit move in our church now and I believe that it is directly related to the trying times we are in. When we leave the church building we know that we had an encounter with the Holy living God. It seems no one is left untouched. It is unlike anything I have seen in 15 years. Ohhh Remember the mid '90s!! What a move that was.
And that is what I am seeing today.
At the end of the service we are anticipating the next one. I for one know that we are in for an exciting time, so I plan to put on my seatbelt and hang on for my prayer is:
"Come LORD, Quickly Come"
